Question 1 What is it about research as a career that interests you the most? In which subject area(s) would you like to pursue research? What led you to choose this area of research? Response to Question 1 I am always interested in the field of organic chemistry, especially bio organic chemistry and supra molecular chemistry .Now a days, the use of supramolecular chemistry in the field of bio organic chemistry gives me great interest in the field of research. Supra molecular chemistry has primarily found it’s inspiration in biological molecules, such as proteins, lipids, and their interactions. Currently the supra molecular assembly of designed compound can be controlled to great extent .This provides the opportunity to combine these synthetic supra molecular elements with bio molecules for the study of biological phenomenon. Again this field of chemistry has broad area of application in various fields such as material science, medicine, drug delivery, sensing devices etc. Apart from this I am also interested in the field of organometallic chemistry ,metal catalysed organic synthesis, cross coupling reactions etc. Question 2 Describe any project, or laboratory experiment, or research-oriented training programme that you have been involved in. Please highlight the aspects that you particularly enjoyed. Response to Question 2 I have done a short project on " Synthesis of diphenyl anthracene based pi conjugates" in my M.Sc final semester. This type of materials are potential candidates as active materials for blue OLEDs, fluoroscent biosensors, chemosensors ,OFET ,devices,solar cell etc. I have enjoyed the whole synthetic work a lot and have also learned about various techniques to some extent which will help me in my own research career. Question 3 State the reasons on why you want to opt for JNCASR for your advanced research / academic studies. Response to Question 3 JNCASR is a multidisciplinary research institute and is considered as one of the best research institute in India. It is my one of the favorite institutes and I always wanted to pursue my research in JNCASR, because of its outstanding research environment, modified instrumentation facilities, renowned faculty members and many more. So, if I get proper opportunity and guidance to pursue my research in JNCASR I will be highly pleased and I will definitely work hard with strong motivation to give my best performance in the field of research. |
