Question 1 What is it about research as a career that interests you the most? In which subject area(s) would you like to pursue research? What led you to choose this area of research? Response to Question 1 Through research work i would be able to explore the known and unknowns of my field of interest in science. I can gain more knowledge and contribute in the respective field. Experimental condensed matter and material science is the area of my interest. From childhood I have been keen towards science and technology and I love to see experimental verifications of the theoretical studies, that’s how I could relate with the theories in practical world. Here I can practically implement the direct consequences of my work on society. I hope to be a experimental physicist. Question 2 Describe any project, or laboratory experiment, or research-oriented training programme that you have been involved in. Please highlight the aspects that you particularly enjoyed. Response to Question 2 In my master’s final year project, I have developed silica nano particle embedded chitosan thin film for multi-parametric optical bio-sensing. Preparation of silica nanoparticle and composite silica nanoparticle chitosan film is developed to study optical parameters like scattering and transmitted intensity using monochromatic laser light .Different conc. of silica nanoparticle and chitosan polysaccharide are taken to compare the outputs. I have enjoyed the experimental part and the comparison studies the most. The most important requirement for a sensor is that it should be selective to particular species with respect to other species, here multi-parametric strategy i.e. simultaneous measurement of more than one sensing parameter, have been reported for increased selectivity. So, I have implemented this approach in my work to develop a sensing system which may be potentially more selective towards a specific analyte. Question 3 State the reasons on why you want to opt for JNCASR for your advanced research / academic studies. Response to Question 3 I have known this institute to be one of the best institues in India. I would be grateful to be a part of JNCASR. |
I declare that all the information and entries of marks are correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. If admitted, I shall obey all the rules and regulations of the Centre. | |
