Question 1 What is it about research as a career that interests you the most? In which subject area(s) would you like to pursue research? What led you to choose this area of research? Response to Question 1 Respected Sir, I am writing on behalf of my application to study towards the doctoral degree at the JNCASR in the Department of Chemistry because of the outstanding research accomplishments of the faculty in my areas of special interest.I want to pursue my Ph.D. on the topics of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, C-H Activation, Transition metal-catalyzed reactions and Asymmetric Synthesis in this program. I hope to be able to contribute to the research community while exploring the research areas. I believe that, whatever I have learned from my school times, bachelor's and masters this knowledge can be imparted and used to explore the wide range of research areas and I want to get specialized in this domain. I was fortunate enough to have done my master dissertation work under Associate Professor Dr. A. A. Ajmeri MSU Baroda. Through my dissertation work, I learn to connect my theoretical knowledge with the practical ones and get to know the various instruments and tools that are used for organic synthesis. I want to explore and dig out the research areas and further find out the solutions of various aspects that I cannot solve or get clear insight into theoretical knowledge. I am interested in working on how various reagents and solvents affects the rate of reaction and study its all aspects from scratch to advance level and to use that synthesis results for the betterment of society and can be used for further research purpose. I am confident about my theoretical knowledge that it will come in handy to do any practical work and help me build my career. It is just a fascination but I want to make my own name reaction in near future. Question 2 Describe any project, or laboratory experiment, or research-oriented training programme that you have been involved in. Please highlight the aspects that you particularly enjoyed. Response to Question 2 RESEARCH EXPERIENCE MASTER’S DISSERTATION WORK Studies and Synthesis and Characterization of Azetidin-2-ones (β Lactam) derived from 7-methyl and 7-benzyloxy derivatives of 2H-1-benzopyran-2-ones having chloro group on para position of phenyl methine ring. July2018 - April2019 I have performed the oxidation of toluene with conc sulfuric acid followed by heating that caught fire in my testube, all my lab mates laughed at that time. Question 3 State the reasons on why you want to opt for JNCASR for your advanced research / academic studies. Response to Question 3 JNCASR being a pioneer in research work, I truly believe that I will have a fruitful learning experience and also would be able to share my knowledge in the process of shaping my future while working in excellent laboratories along with highly interdisciplinary environment and along with highly motivated professors.I hope to obtain a job as a University Professor in future because of the fact that I love teaching and can teach concepts in the easiest way so that students can develop an interest in the subject as well. I am deeply attracted to this lifestyle and the freedom to contribute towards academic areas. During my masters, I have always attended seminars so that I can get to know and listen to the great minds of those professors what they are thinking and how they carry out their research work. I want to spread and share my subject knowledge with everyone like poor and needy children also. As a literate person, it is our responsibility to make them aware of schools and give them the right path so that they can imagine their path in a positive direction so that they can transform their will to excellence. We need to literate them and make them realize how important knowledge is and the real essence of knowledge. I think JNCASR is the right platform for me and nurture me towards my goals and objectives. |
