Question 1
What is it about research as a career that interests you the most? In which subject area(s) would you like to pursue research? What led you to choose this area of research?

Response to Question 1
According to WHO over 17 million people died every year due to infectious diseases caused by pathogens and with time these pathogens are became resistance to the previous drug molecules. So, there is an urgent need of anti-pathogen drug. So, I want work on the field of Medicinal Chemistry as well in chemical biology to developed or modify the new generation anti-pathogen drug molecule for the treatment of such kind of infectious disease.

Question 2
Describe any project, or laboratory experiment, or research-oriented training programme that you have been involved in. Please highlight the aspects that you particularly enjoyed.

Response to Question 2
I have more than one year research experience. My M.Sc project was on Studies Towards Ruthenium Catalysed Free Amine Directed Atroposelective C–H Activation Reaction Under guidance of Dr. Mahiuddin Baidya at IIT Madras . My last paper was published in Org. Lett. ( https://doi.org/10.1021/acs.orglett.0c02228) entitled as Ruthenium-Catalyzed Site Selective C - H Bond Activation/ Annulation Cascade toward Dibenzoazepinone Skeletons. I have also done a summer project under the guidance of Dr. Biplab Maji at IISER Kolkata. My summer project was on Synthesis of Asymmetric Ligands of Transition Metal catalyst.
Through out my two project I really enjoyed work in a group and solving the research problem and learning the new techniques.

Question 3
State the reasons on why you want to opt for JNCASR for your advanced research / academic studies.

Response to Question 3
JNCASR is one of the leading research institute India as well as in in the world. It is equipped with modern research facilities and instruments with high profiled research scientists and students. It also possesses the research and student friendly environment. That’s why I opt JNCASR to pursue my PhD research.
